The vet phoned us to confirm the owners details and we then got in contact with her, she was elated that he had been found and told us she had put out 'Please find my cat' posters when he had gone missing back in October 2011. She said she did not have a cat basket available and that she needed to get one from her daughter so she couldn't come straight over (if I had been looking for my beloved cat for nearly a year, I'd be over like a shot! ...I digress). The lady in question arrived two days after our initial visit to the vets to collect 'Harley', funnily enough, without a cat basket. He was shoved in the back of the car, after he had attempted to run away, and we waved goodbye...

Bertie's Story...Part One
This is Bertie about 2 months after he appeared in our garden…he was much braver by this point. We just assumed he was wandering in for peace and quiet, little did we know his real story! We realised he was more then just a bit nosy and started to feed him (tuna) so that we could get him to the vets, and get him checked for a microchip so we could return him home safely.
We managed to (just about) get him to the vets at the beginning of August and they found out that he did in fact have an owner…who lived less then half a mile from our house! We couldn’t believe it, and then we were told he had been missing since October 2011 and his name was ‘Harley’ (hmmm…), poor cat.
To be continued…

This is Bertie.
Bertie is my cat.
A year ago he wandered in to our garden…and the rest is history…

I am hoping to update Bertie’s Bloggings with a new photo of Bertie every day from now on…I may include some from the past year and many of his sleeping positions, some of which are ‘what I call’ hilarious
